Guest of Honor Rappin 4-Tay

Rappin’ 4-Tay is an original Bay Area rapper from the Fillmore District of San Francisco, California. 4-Tay wasted no time showing the world his swag style. Right after high school, he made his debut featuring on the album Life Is… Too Short by the legend Too Short. After a brief stint away (for some weed, which is legal now), Rappin’ 4-Tay returned with the album Rappin’ 4-Tay Is Back. 4-Tay and his friends Franky J and Fly released the record on their new record label, Rag Top Records.

4-Tay cemented his reputation as the #1 player/rapper with the hit single “Playaz Club” off his 1994 album Don’t Fight the Feelin’. This new album made him a local favorite, due to his hardcore style, which didn’t romanticize the ghetto. 4-Tay had another big hit with “I’ll Be Around”. The song embraced his Bay Area roots with a laid-back style and verses that touch on the pain caused by violence, poverty, and racial injustice. Always in the mix, 4-Tay’s music was featured on one of the biggest hit soundtracks of the decade, Dangerous Minds.

This triple-platinum soundtrack contains two of 4-Tay’s tracks, “Problems” and “A Message for Your Mind”. Throughout his career Rappin 4-Tay has earned the respect of his peers. In 1996, the legendary 2Pac tapped 4-Tay for a feature on “Only God Can Judge Me”, one of the most popular songs on the 7x platinum album All Eyez on Me. Meanwhile, 4-Tay brought his original player style to rap supergroup T.W.D.Y. which celebrated the growing style with the hit “Players Holiday”.

4-Tay has been busy in the rap game. In 2003, Rappin’ 4- In 2003, Rappin’ 4-Tay released the album Gangsta Gumbo with the single “Burning, Burning”, followed up by the album That’s What You Thought in 2007. He was featured on the song “My Alphabets” on fellow Bay Area rap veteran Mac Dre’s 2004 album The Genie of the Lamp.

In 2014, 4-Tay provided Drake with a verse for the hit song “Who Do You Love?” released with rapper YG. Rappin’ 4-Tay is currently working with a number of artists on features, new tracks, beats, and live appearances. His music has been featured on some of the biggest His music has been featured on some of the biggest TV shows and movies of the last few decades. 4-Tay is a dynamic performer and showman and will always will be a legend in the game.
